Now that our time on snow in PE has concluded, we will be honing our stability and flexibility through gymnastics and tumbling. This unit is already underway in Moretown and begins this week in Waitsfield. Gymnastics in P.E. is different from what you see in the Olympics with a focus on developing muscle strength and body awareness as opposed to flinging our bodies in the air. In fact, for student safety, I have a strict no flips/inverted aeriels policy. We'll work on balances like handstands and headstands and do some balancing on stilts and pool noodles as well.
