Moretown
Finally, a snowy Monday at Moretown! Students in grades 1-4 got out on skis, while K and 5/6 stayed inside (and danced) due to the sub zero morning temps. Please enjoy the photos below. We'll aim to ski again on Monday, February 9 in PE and hopefully next time everyone can get out!

Kindergartners last week wrapped up their 3rd and final extended PE/Nordic ski class. And it was a powder day! That allowed us to explore some new and exciting territory like the pump track. (Some great photos below). It was fantastic to see the progress students made in managing their gear and maneuvering on two skinny skis. Thanks to all the adults who helped us tie boots!
I'll now be heading to Sugarbush with the older kids in the afternoon, so Wednesday and Friday Kindergarten PE classes will be in the mornings and held inside for the foreseeable future.
Third-sixth graders will have their fourth and final* Nordic ski PE class on Thursday. We'll be focusing on speed and agility. Yes, they can use poles now, though many have observed that it can be just as much fun without them! (Photos of fun below, some taken by Ms. V)
Next week we'll do an intro to some of the circus skills they will explore in depth during the following week's artist-in-residence.
First and second graders will have their second Nordic ski PE class on Friday! We'll be focusing on uphill and downhill skills. Finally, a favorable Friday forecast! They will also take a break from skiing in PE next week to dabble in some circus skills.
*Final has an asterisk because these plans are subject to change as I will be swayed by a powder day or a t-shirt weather corn snow day!
